Power in the work and in His name

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

Happy to be sending out another brief update on how things are going up here in Calgary! First things first, the weather got above 25 and sunny this week. Haven't felt this warm since my MTC days! Grateful that it has stopped raining daily and let that sun shine!

Covid-19 has spiked a bit recently, I think we had 400+ new cases in a day or something like that... some people just aren't taking it very seriously! But nevertheless, us missionaries are still under some strict and cautious regulations; but, we were lucky enough to be able to eat dinner with our Branch Mission Leader (Brother and Sister Salmon!) out on their patio last night!

The ESL work is still a grind. I was asked by President Keung to make a training video on how to do what we are doing. 1-on-1, group classes, powerpoints, etc.. We made the outline to the video, filmed it, then decide that it was trash and started over. Since there is so much to explain and introduce in what we are making, we outlined it to be a 7 chapter training course with probably about 15 or so 2-3 minute videos. We haven't had anytime to film any of those yet, but this week will be pretty fun trying to find time, in-between lessons, to do that!

Also, we got a call from the Sisters on the Social Media team this week. They asked us to be in charge of directing and creating the introduction video for the new Canada Calgary Mission YouTube Channel. They told us it has to be 1 minute max and attention grabbing. So, if you have any ideas or inspiration to send my way, that would be appreciated because I am not a film maker!!

Sadly, our recent convert Max heads back to Taiwan today... We got all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ with him last week, which was probably the best way to say farewell. We love him, and he will definitely be missed!!
Also, the next we had on-date for baptism moved back to Taiwan yesterday!! She was so ready but wanted her faith to be more of a perfect knowledge. So, the south Elders have been connecting her with the missionaries in Taiwan to continue working with her!

So on Gospel Library this week if you got to Mormon 8 in the Book of Mormon, and click on the picture icon on the top right, you can have secret access to the last Book of Mormon video! I was hesitant to watch it for a while but, I ended up watching it, and I am so glad I did. Being able to watch Moroni journey across the land and testify of the Christ even as the...

"wars [were] exceedingly fierce among themselves; and because of their hatred they put to death every Nephite that will not deny the Christ. And I, Moroni, will not deny the Christ."
Moroni 1: 2 - 3

The Lamanites put to death everyone who would not deny the Christ, and yet, Moroni was able to bury the plates where Joseph Smith would then find them after many many years. These were real people! Real people who were so in-tune with God, they were able to bring forth a work that has the power to bless the lives of literally everyone on earth...

I know that the Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ! I have felt the power of the Book of Mormon every single day of my mission. I know that when prayerfully read, with a sincere heart, your life can change:)
