Hastening Left and Right

Just another regular, technology ran week! I think about how lucky I am to still be out here in Calgary often. I would not change these "quarantine" weeks for anything. Every day that goes by is a blessing! Everyone is really learning how to use technology effectively, we barely even skipped a beat. I've said it before and i'll say it again, the Lord is truly hastening his work here in the Calgary Mandarin program. I don't have that much to share this week but here's our highlight, and some thoughts:)

MAX
I believe some of you already know who Max is, he is pretty much our best friend. We love him and look forward to every single lesson we have with him. He has such a strong testimony of the gospel, especially prophets and the spirit. We were able to move his baptismal date up to May 6th!! The spirit was so strong as we taught him the Gospel of Jesus Christ: Faith, Repentance, Baptism, The Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. He loved it! This spirit touched his heart and testified of the truthfulness of the message. "And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." (Moroni 10:5) As we talked about his baptismal date, he was so excited to push it forward:) Another couple days went by and we had another lesson with him. Lesson 4, the Commandments "And now I read unto you the remainder of the commandments of God, for I perceive that they are not written in your hearts; I perceive that ye have studied and taught iniquity the most part of your lives" (Mosiah 13:11), No Max had not been taught iniquity for most of his life. He actually lived quite righteously without even knowing it! So, the lesson went smoothly and his testimony of prophets was strengthened. We love Max and we look forward to May 6th!!

The Kids
We get the great opportunity to teach online english classes to these 2 cute kids, Henry and Erica. They love to talk with us over Facebook Messenger and always ask us questions about english. We have scheduled to teach them 3 times a week! This often exposure is so great because we get to see our relationship, their english, and their testimonies get strengthened every-time we meet. These last 2 lessons we read stories out of "The Friend" with them! These simple stories and testimonies help them improve so much, I look forward to being able to meet them in person!

"And in one year were thousands and tens of thousands of souls sent to the eternal world, that they might reap their rewards according to their works, whether they were good or whether they were bad, to reap eternal happiness or eternal misery, according to the spirit which they listed to obey, whether it be a good spirit or a bad one.
For every man receiveth wages of him whom he listeth to obey, and this according to the words of the spirit of prophecy; therefore let it be according to the truth..." (Alma 3:26 - 27)

I love this connection, we can think of ourselves as an employee. The ultimate employer is either God or Satan. The word list means to tilt or lean. "Our lives are made up of thousands of everyday choices. Over the years these little choices will be bundled together and show clearly what we value" (-Boyd K. Packer Oct. 1980). We are faced with lots of choices everyday! But, as we follow God we are promised to be blessed. "I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise." I find comfort in this simple truth! Follow God and receive blessings, set a standard for yourself and always keep a prayer in your hearts! Much Love
