Starting my last 2

Another transfer in the books. I stayed up here in Rocky Ridge/Royal Oak but I got a new companion and two additional wards! If you are looking at a map, I cover the neighborhoods around the temple in the NW, and the city of Cochrane all the way almost to Canmore/Banff. My new companion (Elder Isom) and I are also now considered "Rez missionaries" meaning missionaries that cover or work on a First Nations Reserve. Basically, we are like Oliver Cowdery called to serve the Lamanite people in and around NW Calgary, so that's super cool!! With all these new and added responsibilities, we are still overseeing our missions ESL, Facebook Pages, and Full-send programs (call-center). There is so much we need to get done every day, it's amazing.

Our recent convert was on the phone with his brother in Texas a few days ago. They got talking about religion and his brother said something about the Aaronic priesthood.. Emmanuel hesitantly asked: "are you a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints?" His brother was a bit nervous to answer (because of how they were raised in Nigeria), Emmanuel informed him that he was just baptized a few weeks ago and had been planning to go to the temple to do baptisms for the dead! His brother was baptized just under a year ago too!! The Lord really is watching over this family. Emmanuel has a big part to play in this work! Just this Saturday they were able to get an appointment to enter the temple and do baptisms for a few of their ancestors.

On Thursday, we had a lesson with a few members and one of their potential member friends. This was in Cochrane so we didn't have too much information going into this lesson, but we planned on teaching the restoration. Things didn't go as planned but it was for a very good reason. We got on the video call with the Chiles Family and their friend Eldana joined in. She immediately explained to us that she would like to be baptized on April 24th. So, instead of teaching the full restoration, we introduced the Book of Mormon and planned with her how she could achieve this goal of being baptized on the 24th! What a crazy miracle!

A couple of scriptures from my studies this week: (Alma 37)
33 Preach unto them repentance, and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ; teach them to humble themselves and to be meek and lowly in heart; teach them to withstand every temptation of the devil, with their faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.
34 Teach them to never be weary of good works, but to be meek and lowly in heart; for such shall find rest to their souls.
35 O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God.
36 Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.
37 Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

No matter who you are or where you are, the Lord is watching over you. Counsel with him, be obedient to His commandments, and be grateful for all the blessings He gives you. He loves you!
