Keepin' it goin'!

Things are still just fine and dandy for me! Still absolutely loving the work that I get to be a part of. We got a Chinook this week so it went from -40 to 4 in a day. The people we meet are progressing everyday! Thank you for all your prayers! Here are the Highlights:)

Frozen city contacting
We canceled sports night on didn't know of anyone coming and we knew that it was definitely too cold for anyone to go outside. This opened up our whole night! We decided to go ride the train back and forth and walk around the city centre contacting all the people we could. It was super fun! Both Elder Choi and I were wearing so many layers but after an hour we both were frozen. The first guy we contacted was a member growing up and couldn't remember why he fell away but he wanted a Book of Mormon! Gave a ton of pamphlets out and did all we could to brighten peoples night!

Hot Pot with Sarah
Sarah took us to go get Hot Pot! She is super awesome. We went with the other Elders and both of her sons so the bill was pretty big, but she woulay for anything!! Definitely my favorite lunch appointment so far.

Moving 6 Mattresses
Later that day we were helping a spanish family move. We got all the missionaries in the area and a few members to bring their cars so we could do it in one trip! We loaded all of the cars to the brim, and the truck was full. We ended up getting everything except for the mattresses so we made a quick lap. With 6 mattresses, 0 straps, 2 shovels, and a Chevy Colorado we had to get creative. (pic attached) Driving down the highway was a little scary but we said a prayer and God helped us complete the journey!

Translating more Sacrament
Same things as last week. I was sitting in front helping out translating some of sacrame the prayers, announcements and scriptures. It's honestly so much fun! I wasn't even sure if anyone was listening until afterwards one of the ladies visiting comes up to me and says:
"You have such a beautiful translation voice" It made my day hahaha.

3 language Nearer my God to Thee
One of our dinner messages this week with the central zone leaders we decided to sing! Since one of the zone leaders is a spanish elder and we dabble in chinese we sang Nearer my God to Thee in English, then Chinese, then Spanish! The family loved it and said we sounded amazing, not so sure about that:)

6 Chinese houses in 45 minutes!
Before dinner another night we had some extra time to go knock some doors! We felt inspo a circle that was a little bit higher in elevation (since Chinese people like to live higher up). I didn't ever think that was true until this night. The first 3 door was knocked were all Chinese people. Not all interested but none the less still chinese people! In 45 minutes we found another 3 chinese families who we invited so our Chinese New Year party next month! We also found a really nice family that wants us to come back and teach them!

Here's President Nelsons Invitation to you!
"God loves all of His children and has a vision for each of us. Just as He listened to Joseph’s prayer in 1820, He listens to you and yearns to speak with you through the Spirit. Heavenly Father wants you. We want you. This is going to be an important year. We invite you to be a major part in sharing the message of the ongoing Restoration of the Savior’s gospel. We will share more about this soon, but you can start today by acting on the invitations I extended to you at last general conference to immerse yourself in the glorious light of the Restoration.
What does that look like? You may wish to begin your preparation by reading afresh Joseph Smith’s account of the First Vision as recorded in the Pearl of Great Price. Or ponder important questions such as “How would my life be different if my knowledge gained from the Book of Mormon were suddenly taken away?” or “How have the events that followed the First Vision made a difference for me and my loved ones?”
Select your own questions. Design your own plan. Act on any of these invitations to prepare yourself for sharing the important messages of the ongoing Restoration. As you seek Jesus Christ in these efforts, God will prepare you to receive further light. It is your personal preparation that will help April’s general conference become for you not only memorable but unforgettable. The time to act is now. This is a hinge point in the history of the Church, and your part is vital. "
